I’m having an issue with my San no Ito slipping out of the small notch on the koma bridge. It only happens with up stroke but it happens quite frequently. I also only seem to have this problem with one of my komas.
Should I look into filing down the notch to be a bit deeper? or am I just bad at up stroke? Or both.
Are the koma measurements somehow different from the others? What if you place the koma a bit differently (eg. slide to the other side)?
Seen this kind of thing myself on the deluxe shinobi koma depending on placement, think the grooves tend to be on a bit different position than “natural”.

Did that happen from the beginning, or is that a recent occurrence?
I don’t think the grooves have to be filed very deeply. It also depends on string tension and where you’ve placed/set it on the shamisen Could you take a picture of your shamisen, so we could see where the koma is set, and the groove depth?
