Shamisen Eluveitie cover!

IT IS FINISHED (mostly). I’ve had this song up my sleeve for a little while, but wanted to refrain from recording it until the shamisen was further along.

nice cover man, your shamisen has a nice tone aswell

very sweet…

nice!

Dude that’s amazing. If you happen to write some tablature I’d love to have it. Maybe you’ll tackle Inis Mona or Giamonios next?

hahaha I only did that song randomly. That being said, Inis Mona is my personal favorite, so I may just have to work on that

Through the magic of Karl, there are now tabs!!!
http://shamisen.karlhedlund.se/pdf/2f58a0cc-e142-487e-8eab-dc753318471c.pdf

there are some parts where silencing the string sounds better (may or may not be noticeable from my video) and the ending chord can be done wherever, or not at all! If you have any additions, edits, or other improvements for the tabs, let me know!

Holy Cow! Bryan !! You are an awesome Shamisen Player! Great intonation and you really nailed the faster runs as well! This made my day man! Yeah!!!

wow

nice playing!
concerning finger-movement it would have helped if the tenjin were fully visible in the video.
your shami has already a deep/vibrant tone.
I wonder how its sound developes when its fully assembled.

Woow! Amaizing playing and amazing cover! I like a lot!

hahaha! Alessandro, when I was recording that, I looked at my previous videos and noted that almost the entire dou was out of the picture, along with the bachi. I made a conscious effort to raise the dou a bit, and didn’t think about the tenjin at all… whoops =)

Kevin: I am honored that I could make the day of the shamimaster, and now I feel the need to redouble my efforts!

Joseph: I have a fair amount of Inis Mona figured out (mostly following the hurdy gurdy in the verses, and the flute for the chorus). When I finish classes today, I will put up what I have in terms of video and tabs also, if you want.

Everyone: Thanks for the support, and congratulations for being the greatest online community the world has to offer! Keep up the good work!

That would be awesome! I’ve been really getting back into metal, so having a few metal songs in my Shamisen repertoire would be great!

Whoa snap! I hadn’t seen this until now.

Sweet fancy moses!!! You’ve only been playing…6 months? Your playing is amazing! Intonation is very clear and sound is smooth. And on your homemade shamisen no less!

And tabs to boot!!
After Luke makes a page for Skype lessons, he will be creating a page for hosting tableture made with Karl’s program, so tab for this song (and anything else) can be easily accessed anytime!

Very good show, Bryan. And I like the tone of your shamisen. Hey Aki, it’s like the Bass Shamisen you were talking about on episode 63 of the Bachido Blogcast!
