Shamisen-related Nightmares

Ok… So from time to time… I have nightmares.
But the odd thing about my nightmares is that they are always about my shamisen.

I have had 3 nightmares in the last 6 months about the skin breaking.
Every single time, it involved the skin getting wet…

So I finally physically took out money for a skin replacement, and put it in my shamisen case for, well… let’s say a “rainy day” lol

And guess what… The nightmares seem to have stopped!

But then last night the unimaginable happened.
It’s like my nightmares went to the next level.

Last night I dreamed I was playing shamisen and my bachi started to chip away at an incredible speed.
perhaps “crumble” would have been a better word choice

within seconds, I only had one side of my bachi left to use.

So now, you’re probably asking yourself “so… what’s the point?”

And I will tell you! There is no point!

well… At the very least, it is shamisen related

Just had to get it out!!

Anyone else out there ever have shamidreams?

I’m sorry that you have these serious problems but I laughed.

I have a solution for you, which you can find in the recent thread about coffee:

Stay up, drop dead like a zombie and regenerate in the morning with coffee. Your body won’t have time to dream!

I’ve worried about the same two things actually. But I just remind me of my life experience with everything else. No reason to worry about stuff until it happens if we’re talking something that simply needs to be replaced using cash.

I have been dreaming about the Shamisen,
I would like to get…
I sure hope it doesn’t turn to nightmares worrying at Shamisen after I get it…

and in all fairness, if nightmares are the worst of my shamisen problems, I think i’m doing pretty good~ lol

lol and as much as I would love to do that, I am allergic to coffee (o.o)

but that bachi dream really freaked me out haha

I don’t think I’ve ever had a nightmare like that, probably because my shami has never been skinned properly.
99.9% times my dreams are about the zombie apocalypse.

It was a madness laugh, as I tried to imagine your intense nightmares! I swear!

I don’t generally like zombie movies because they are generally stupid. Funny enough though, the scene that I find most disturbing is in a comedy… I bet you’ve seen Shaun of the Dead, being from England and all. The scene starting at 1 minute where he is dragged out of the window is what I would fear dreaming about. The maximum horror would be to lie there in that position, and seeing that one zombie checking out your shamisen and eating the skin from it!

Damn, I was going to warn about strong imagery, but they kinda nailed it with the snapshot…

The same thing happens in “From Dusk Til Dawn”, a boy’s

Yup seen em :slight_smile: But Frok Dusk Til Dawn loses all of its horror when the rock show starts and the guitar is made out of human body parts. That just made me laugh because it’s so badly made :slight_smile:

I’ve seen Hot Fuzz too, and I think it’s a much better movie than Shaun of the Dead due to better script and story. I’ve also seen that runner movie with the same actor.

A friend of mine loves zombie movies, which is why I’ve seen quite a few. I think the concept is pretty outdated though :stuck_out_tongue: When it comes to zombies I am more into the Resident Evil games. There’s more horror in those games than in the movies.

Yeah they are stupid, but thats why they are so funny. Original dawn of the dead was awesome though!
Run Fat Boy Run! Great movie! Most of the actors from those films were in a comedy series they wrote called “Spaced”, you might wanna check it out if you haven’t seen it

its weird when i have a nightmare or bad thoughts i think of shamisen and playing it, did that last night and i was able to power through to just thinking about shamisen ^.^

BRAINDEAD . . . one of my favorite movies even without regard to genre . . . I never cared to know for sure but I think this was directed by the same director who did lord of the rings later on . . .

My worst shamisen nightmare: About to play shamisen on stage and couldn’t find my pants.

We watched the series finale of the BBC series MI-5 (on Netflix). Anyone seen it?

I have dreams where I’m riding a unicorn and flying over a rainbow while playing shamisen. I can’t decided if it’s better or worse.
I’d say my worst nightmare is to break strings on stage, forget notes, or get out of timing in front of a huge audience… but I’ve already done all of those things, and it ain’t that bad! Haha

And I love Zombie movies! There are so many great movies out, and they just keep making more! It’s the genre that will never die! (good one, right?)
I’m a big fan of Romero myself.

I was going to comment, then realized a picture of a huge joint would probably sum it up, then remembered that we might have rules against drugs. So here’s me just saying that that’s some straaange stuff man :slight_smile:

Take care that you don’t happen to combine it with Kyle’s dream. Dat ride…
