Hello! Is this a good way to apply the skin to the shamisen?
This is… definitely not a good way to go about it. I mean, it gets the job done and I applaud this person creativity with the extremely cheap build.
But you cannot get a tight enough skin with nails, even if you get fancy drum nails with great grip. The thing is, Shamisen skin is very thin, and it will definitely rip if you put the kind of tautness that will make a Shamisen sound good.
