Strings!

Okay! :stuck_out_tongue:

Strings are dyed yellowish due to the chemical the silk threads are dyed/soaked in when they are being all wound up into your strings it is to prevent bugs an such eating away at them and preserving the strings…

HOWEVER! I create this post to ask/enquire/ inspire others to do something else. How about other coloured strings for further personalisation to shamisen? Jamie would really like to get a black wood shamisen with red strings and red pegs.

Pink would be awesome aswell. :stuck_out_tongue: as you know pink is the best colour in the world. Is it possible for mutliple coloured strings? Or is there another reason to the yellow?

Let me know your colours/ colors you would like.

Excellent question Cana!

So though it’s not silk strings for shamisen, we just discovered a new kind of string for ukulele. It’s a nylon/copper blend which is deep red colored.

Very bright sounding. Now if they could be made for banjo, it’d be interesting to try for shamisen!

Not silk, but nylon guitar strings (mostly flamenco ones) are often black or red coloured. So why not ?

Anything is possible with modern synthetic strings. I think yellow is still used because it is traditional and shamisen is a traditional instrument. White strings would look nice on my nagauta, or maybe glow in the dark strings.

omg glow in the dark <3
i LOVE anything glow in the dark

even I’d be down for glow-in-the-dark

Kyle… I think we need to make something happen here!

Pure white strings and play next to a blacklight.

Problem solved! :stuck_out_tongue:

lol sounds more like a band-aid than a cure

But I have to admit, it sounds like something I wanna try lol

I need glow in the dark markers too… maybe glowwy stars :stuck_out_tongue:

I used waxed beading cord on my erhu and that comes in loads of colours. Think you can get different thicknesses as well.
