True! It’s like a battle axe!
Oooh… do I see a future shamisen design for the Swedish shamisen?..
Amazing that you’ve found another one practising! I’ll send her a message somehow.
She must be the first player then.
That’s a good outfit, I’ll have that in mind until next meeting.
Haha…WoW!!! Man! The first time I watched this I’ll admit I was at work . I couldn’t really concentrate that day because being at work, I was constantly being distracted by annoying people who want stuff to get done etc…
But I finally watched it again and got to catch all the subtle humor in the beginning and throughout the performance! Love all the Shamisen playing ! Scarborough Fair was a great choice!
And love the fire extinguisher !
You guys Rock! I hope we can look forward to this as the beginning of a series of video posts from Sweden and the Swedish scene out there which is started by you two.
Oh but there is the rumor…of another Shamisenist in Sweden?
LOVE IT! Good choice on the title for the taikai!
I can’t believe how great you guys sound together! I wasn’t even playing these songs until at least a year into my studying, and I definitely didn’t have nearly as good of a grasp of it.
I’m looking so forward to meeting up with you two in person and jamming! I will do my best to imitate the epic face melting awesomeness that you guys are beaming out!
I gotta say, I guess the “spinner” is actually a little harder then I thought. lol
You’re lucky Hatsumi was there watching out for your bachi; otherwise who knows what could have happened!
And Kyle, well played. I think we’re onto something here.
Kevin and Grant: The fire extinguisher put in the spirit of my Japan experience of shamisen with you guys.
Good support!
Haha I’m glad you guys like it and thanks for the kind words Kevin, it was fun making the video so there will be more for sure!
I’m very impressed by Anne’s learning curve. It’s off the chart! Will be epic to meet up and jam indeed!
It would be great if we could come in contact with her!
Of course it’s off the charts Karl! Remember that’s Anne Liljedahl!-legendary Shamisen master of Sweden! The world just doesn’t know it yet. But you can look it up in the future if you have the right future predicting software. You know, you can even see the headlines about how she blows away Japan with her Shamisen skills! 'bout five years into the future I’d say…set your dial for . . .
Just kidding of course!
Or AM I?
Haha. Anne, I’m glad the fire extinguisher has the connection to the good old days in Misawa when the three of us were jammin!
Back then you only played the most basic notes on Yasaburo bushi
! Now you can jam out the whole tune! Rockin it! Yeah!
Karl glad to kow you are planning future videos!
More to look forward to !
Great work guys!
Haha, well thank you Kevin and Karl! Becoming legendary shamisen master or not, I do love my shamisen to a degree that it’s almost perverse.
So I’ll keep playing it and do my best to let the soul of the shamisen mingle with mine.
The good old days back in Misawa, gives me a big smile on my face! Will always be embedded in the “happy-memories”-file.
It’s so nice to see you alive, happy and energetic! Keep it up bro!
