Hmm. You do hear a difference in tone Kyle?
I do too, but I thought it was perhaps so slight that
It could have been my imagination. That or wishful thinking because I did notice it feeling better somehow, more natural I guess .
Oh, I’m not around enough “real” (meaning, not made by myself ) shamisen in person to know for sure. Taichi said that he thinks there’s a difference between nama bachigawa and plastic bachigawa. I’m sure there is a difference, but it’s probably soooo slight. Indeed, with any differences that subtle, one has to be very rigorous in eliminating the mind-influence. (Thus the benefit of double-blind tests)
Uh oh… I feel an infomercial coming .
Oooh!! That reminds me, I gotta make the 2014 Bachido Festival infomercial with that footage we took!
oooo ^.^ think i may request a comparison of sound between bachigawa shamisen and not?
i love my current sound… but im kinda sceptical about putting a bachigawa on if it ruins the sound i have.
Cana,
Well I almost “hear” no real difference in sound. Thats why i was wondering if it was my imaginarion. For me it’s more that it feels slightly more natural without the bachigawa. I can almost bet if we were to compare the sounds on a video with vid-audio (unless using a Suuuuuuper sensitive mic) there would be practically no difference in sound.
By the way Cana please post more vids!
oo just stuck on bachigawa wish i video’d it, i heard deep sounds before hand same spot where bachigawa is supposed to be and now its abit more crisp… like tsugaru
im using a seethrough half moon design bachigawa, but there is hardly any differnce in my opinion and for the added protection even in theory i think its worth getting
Might make another video friday will be practicing alot this week, sorry ive been abit inactive… new house requires loads of shopping haha
expensive and im going in for surgery on my toes somtime soon
buuuuut! i shall put up another video maybe on friday or sooner ^^
Cana, you are in for surgery!? Take a good care of yourself. That is first. And for the second comes practice and another video.
yep, 4 ingrown infected toenails… need to get them sorted o:
ouch , i had the same thing like 10 years ago , hurts like hell but the surgery is quick and you won’t feel anything ! how do you say in English … Good recovery, right ? anyway the only thing you might be scared of is the coffee … don’t drink it in hospital , it sucks !
Oh, dear. I prey for all your simple recovery!
Ah good old infected toenails, everyone’s favorite subject. I feel for you. I actually remove mine on my own, it hurts like hell.
hehe had mine 5 years… hurts like hell everyday i seem to stub my toes atleast 30 times a day not counting the simple rubbing of socks or blankets that hurts like hell
hopefully it wil be done with soon
i heard deep sounds before hand same spot where bachigawa is supposed to be and now its abit more crisp… like tsugaru
Interesting… I wouldn’t think a half-moon would cover enough skin to make a difference in tone, but you never know! My mandolin-making friend tells me that lacquering mandolin with Nitrocelluose makes it much brighter. He personally dislikes that, and uses an oil varnish to give the mandolin a warmer sound. The mandolin sounds plenty warm when the strings are dead, so I do everything to brighten it up as much as possible.
Anywho, Nitrocelluouse is plastic too, so perhaps there’s a connection? Just a theory.
yep, 4 ingrown infected toenails… need to get them sorted o:
Four??? How can you have that many toes??
Wishing a speedy recovery for you and your footmates! Take advantage of the hospital and eat as much Jello as you can! That’s one part of childhood I miss.
I feel for you. I actually remove mine on my own, it hurts like hell.
Home surgery. Saving up for a bachi, Karl?
Home surgery. Saving up for a bachi, Karl?
Maaaaybeee…
I can help you all with your infected toe nails! Let me just grab my pliers.
yea kyle i was supprized myself ^^
it does make my skin tighter though… i was sure to hit every part of my skin before putting it on and i had an audience of 2 aswell they all agree that it was abit tighter and crisper in tone
Also what i mean by 4 ingrown toenails is both sides of both big toes are ingrown and infected
… o.o;; ~hides from karl~
