the 4300 sequence has so many different notations, are they different? which way do YOU prefer?

its hard enough doing 4300 as it is, not to say remembering which order in which to pluck the strings. is there even a difference at all? do certain pieces prefer one style over the other?

and if not, which one is easier for someone to learn?

these are just two of the ways ive seen it, cant remember/ find example of the third

There is indeed a difference! The notes may be the same, but the rhythmic feeling is totally different!

Basically, in terms of volume and such,
A is “Heavy-soft-soft-soft,” but
B is “Heavy-soft-heavy-soft.”

Because B has two accents in it, it conveys something more of a rushing feeling. Your bachi hand also moves twice as fast with B, so it looks more rushed too. I’d say A is more common, but B is used every once in a while for emphasis.

I can also think of a C

And of course there are others. As you’ll find with a lot of shamisen, it’s not just which notes you play, but how you play them that matters.
