Everyone!
With a design finalized, the only thing we must decide on to start making the new saofuki is the color!
So in short - BLACK RED BLUE YELLOW
Pick your favorite color!
RED!
What happened to orange? The one that I received with my shamisen was orange and it is always a good combination with black print. It shows if your shamisen was dirty and it’s not too rough on the eyes.

Any color would be fine. But if I can choose, reddish purple.
Orange could be interesting. Not sure if I’m fond of it myself yet. I think I’d have to see it. Black and red is a good standard though.
i’d like an white one with orange text or orange one with white text ( black text is nice too)
I’ve just asked Masahiro if orange is possible. 
I think the text color has to be black though.
orange even is my favorite color but and maybe because of that I feel very strongly about not wanting black on orange . . .
and because of that after reading Karl’s suggestion earlier today I then pondered the question all day whether I should also suggest orange . . . since I thought orange just might open another can of worms as for the text color
since I don’t go on stage in japan though who am I to lobby against black on orange and I know color combinations that are even worse so I could live with black on orange too as for this . . .
still my favorites would be black on red or white on orange I think those would both be cool looking saofukis . . . either rather a good standard / serious / noble black on red or flashy white on orange ones . . . gotta say the white on orange combined maybe even with orange yubikakes would be flashy for sure . . . a matter of taste as for whether that flashiness is wanted or not of course . . .
Blue!
oh I just found something blue I have never seen before and it looks okay too . . .
Ooh, Ki&Ki. They rock yellow as well.
I’ve posted this question to FB, and there’s been a lot of support for yellow (well, with just as much support for every other color as well 
) At first I only wanted red, but now I’m starting to be drawn to yellow.
Orange.
Yellow is too much “in your face”.

If I may, perhaps… Kyle. We should also consider a bit of color psychology to go along with it. Whether you believe it or not… perhaps it would just be interesting to think about.

when I saw yellow and blue though I was reminded of my first home computer so this would be something for retro fans . . . and with this I am out of this discussion I guess not because I don’t care at all but because it is after all just a saofuki and probably not even the last one ever to be made and I gotta admit some of those other colors other than the best one are looking okay too . . .

Alrighty! So thanks to TJ’s links, I’m quite drawn to orange myself. Just for lulz though, here’s another mockup with orange, darker blue and darker red.
BH: After seeing that, I’m reminded of the blue screen of death. And with that, blue is ruled out.
