Tunes on the Banjo that I play that I am planning to play on the Shamisen

Ah! I know that one!
Sally in the garden sifting sifting,
sally in the garden sifting sand,
Sally in the garden sifting sifting,
sally upstairs with the hog eyed man.

Howdy how you do to my hog eye hog eye
Howdy how you do to my hog eye’d man
Howdy how you do to my hog eye hog eye
Howdy how you do to my hog eye’d man

I’ve only heard it sung acappela.

Oh man, that is a great sounding banjo, John. Even from youtube quality sound, it’s very resonant.

This inspires me to start playing my old time repertoire on shamisen again! Got out of the routine a few months ago and hard to get back on the horse.

Thank you Kyle. I am looking forward to getting a Shamisen soon to start playing so many wonderful tunes. Old time music on Shamisen sounds epic.

Thanks John, that was beautiful. Bluegrass, and the earlier Appelacian music saved by Mose Asch and the New Lost City Ramblers; have a soulful presence that the Shamisen will blend with beautifully. Please record some after you get your Shamisen.
Regards,
Phil

I can’t imagine how with all of the other irons you have in the fire. What are you going to give up? Eating…sleeping? You are a remarkable man. Thanks for all that you do.
