Want to be on Japanese TV?

And now for something completely different.

Hey everyone! Now, this isn’t very shamisen related, but an opportunity that has just come up. Nitta san has been talking with television networks about the 2014 Tour of Team Bachido. In the talk, they mentioned something which somebody here might like to do!

There is a show called 笑ってコラえて. You can see what it’s like here -

Nitta san was only told that they are making a documentary and are looking for foreigners who would like to live in Japan, or already live there. They’re especially looking for people who have interest in Japan, want to do something or have dreams they want to fulfill.
At the end of February, you would stay in a sharehouse to study for about two or three months. Only living expense you have to pay is for food. That’s all he was told. Boom!

Now, that’s not a lot information to go on. As Nitta san said, it was kind of a “If you’re there…If it’s okay for you… you can do it” sort of thing. Since we’re always thinking about Bachido, Nitta san thinks it would be a nice opportunity for any Bachido members to go and represent.

There is absolutely no pressure to do this. TV production is neither Nitta san’s nor my profession, but we’re just sharing the invitation Nitta san was told.

As one who’s been on TV a few times, I’d say it’d be a fun opportunity. Besides being something completely different, it’s always interesting to see how the production works. In anycase, if this sounds like something you would like to do, all you need to do is fill out this form and send it in. If they are interested in you, you will be notified!

As you can see by the form, a bit on Japanese skill is necessary.

If nothing else, this provides some fun forum discussion!

Would be so awesome to do D: Pity I’m at uni until May :c

Oh man, I am on sorting out the logistics of being able to participate in this!

This sounds totally awesome! Good luck to the one who gets there!

i so wish i had any ability to do this : (

Alright, officially announcing that I will not be applying. Too much awesome stuff is happening here in CA/with Bachido that taking the time to be on TV would not be nearly as cool.

As one who was supporting Adrian in joining, I can vouch that the epic opportunities we were present last weekend far outweighed TV airtime on the Awesome Scale.
(not at all saying that being on the TV show wouldn’t be a great opportunity, but a testament of how terrific our local to-be-announced shenanigans will be!)

By the way, if anyone is interested, note that you don’t have to be completely fluent in Japanese. If you can’t understand the questionnaire, I (or hopefully someone else) can translate it into English. The important thing is having the genuine desire to learn a Japanese art or live there.

And a plus to resound the “I don’t speak Japanese” aspect: If you have a dream to learn Japanese (as a language), that fulfills their want from someone on the show. You could say that your “Dream”/goal is to become as fluent as possible, given the 3 months they are allotting.

SO don’t let your lack of experience/skill be a hinderance; take it to the red zone and ride that isn to the finish line~!!
