I am a complete new blood wanting to learn how to play, I fell in love, but I cannot find a location to buy, let alone learn how to play. with the horrible economy I’m low on funds but I’m more than willing to learn from someone’s hand me down barley working instrument.
I’ll work for a chance to learn, I’m a linguistic anthropologist that can translate Chinese and Some Japanese.
So any advice or help, I’d be very appreciative.

Yes, the rumors (shown on the front page) are true! Bachido will have shamisen available for all budgets.
These shamisen are designed by Masahiro Nitta, who’s dubbed the “world’s greatest shamisen player.” He too wants all shamisen enthusiasts to be able to play shamisen, and has put great effort into designing an affordable shamisen so everyone can join in the fun. 
Masahiro’s shamisen range from student level quality all the way up to professional kouki shamisen with all the trimmings. As well as shamisen, all the accessories you could ever want will be available. These shamisen (and other products) will be available beginning of September. (less than 2 months away!)
