Second, what’s the cheapest you guys think I could get a Tsugaru Shamisen for? I have a Nagauta right now, and while I love it… Tsugaru IS tsugaru.

It depends if you are looking to get a brand new shamisen, or a chuko (pre-owned). A brand new shamisen is, well… brand new. Pristine condition and quality, but you pay for it to be shiny and barely a spec of dust on it. 
You can score some pretty sweet chuko shamisen at amazing prices (potentially as low as $500). If you are looking for a tsugaru shamisen as cheap as possible, That’s what I’d keep a lookout for. The shamisen we’ve listed in the chuko thread have been 50% off. They’re all cleaned up, and most probably wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between a chuko product and a brand new one.
