What type of Bachi is this

I found a Bachi similar to the one I bought - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.l2557&item=150732808399&nma=true&rt=nc&si=TlwJt%2B6ZWlt4uACGWXyd%2FxKdddY%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc#ht_500wt_1288

Look at the photo in the link and compare to the one on my photobucket.

I bought the Bachi from the same eBay seller. My costed $120.00 the one in the link was sold to somebody else for $45.00 + shipping

Just a yes or no - doesn’t my Bachi look similar to the one on the eBay link?

Any expert on Bachi(s)?

To me it looks like the one for $45 is in pretty bad shape. The playing surface looks really worn down, and is much shorter than in any bachi I’ve ever seen. Usually you have a greater balance of handle to playing surface, like say, with this bachi: http://blog-imgs-42.fc2.com/m/o/d/moderns/CIMG0634.jpg

Do you see what I mean? Also, the tips don’t look very sharp at all. I don’t even see how you could play with that bachi. That could explain the price difference, if that’s what your asking about.

I mean, it doesn’t look TERRIBLE, but it is pretty worn down if it is in fact a tsugaru bachi. It kinda looks like you’re holding the bachi with the end resting on top of your pinky below the knuckle. Try putting it between your pinky and ring finger and holding it with the sides of your fingers.

(Jamie) - I mean my Bachi has some sharp parts of the tip. I bought it for $120.00 (I just want to know if My bachi is a small handed Tsugaru Shamisen Bachi)

and the picture to the link - I know those are over $300.00 (is that your Bachi?)

Okay can anybody answer this.

Are Bachi(s) for Tsugaru style - are smaller compare to other Bachi(s) for folk songs and etc?

No, that’s not my bachi. Just one I pulled off Google. Mine’s similar, 'cept it’s got a wood handle.
