Urushi has been known to cause reactions (it is from a poisonous plant after all) so why isn’t kashu lacquer more common?
You be surprised but the cashew lacquer contains the same poison ivy chemical, just in lesser concentration and compared to urushi does not require high humidity to cure properly and can be just air-dried.
