Today as I was waiting for the train I got out my shamisen and started playing ^^ about 5 minutes later someone comes across 4 platforms to come give me £5.00… 
soo yea ! shamisen already paying for itself XD
I wasnt even thinking I would get anything I was just playing to play… and someone gave me money for it…

I’ll keep the £5.00 though maybe put it somewhere safe and not spend it. The guy who gave it to me was really cool, had dreadlocks and was in his late 30’s-50’s.

Just ordered Shamisen of Japan, and put a downpayment on a fiberboard keyboard case that was destroyed on inside wrecked of all padding… but it fits shamisen with enough room for extremely thick padding. its a lightweight case thats a hardcase~
the case was £50.00 i put a downpayment of £5.00 and it will need work done on it~ all handles work fine and the clips to keep lid on… it just needs loads of foam/sponge and possibly a accessorie pouch later on.
The case looks beat up but its nice.

Sounds like that will be a nice shamisen case! Retrofitting old instrument/object cases is a really good one to have a good case on the cheap. A friend of mine told me he made his shamisen hard case from an old bazooka case.
