If you are in the north of England in spring you may be interested in this event.
As part of the ‘York Literature Festival’ on 16th March, two poets will read (in English) poems inspired by Japan and the tanka style of poetry. Their readings will be backed by a group of taiko drummers and myself on koto and shamisen. The doors open at 7.30 and tickets can be purchased at the door, or in advance by calling 01904 613000.
I hope I’ve managed to attach the poster to this post, but if not, more information can be found on the York Literature Festival website. (Although ‘inexplicably’ they fail to mention koto and shamisen).
