Bachido Blogcast E17

As an apology to the community for the lack of any coffee references last week, this entire episode is filmed while roasting a fresh batch of Bolivian beans!

24 hours from now, I’m off to Sapporo (Japan) to engage in a variety of Bachido affairs, including studio recording, meetings, product development, and maybe a good old fashioned BBQ.

Though my forum activity will be quite low in this time, I will take little daily video updates and post them on the forum as much as I can.

See y’all soon!

Hi Kyle,
Have a safe trip to Japan.
When you deliver your Jerky,
it looks like you’ll have 3 pounds of
smuggling room… Hmmmm…
Thanks for the coffee reference, this one was exciting!!!

ooo ^.^ have a safe trip, Hope you dont get sick this time.
^.^

i really miss jerky x.x;;
dont have it in the uk it seems… used to eat peppered jerky like everyday xD

might hafta bug you for some treats someday when i order products from yea :stuck_out_tongue: could send them along… like Tostitos, chamoy,… jerky
^.^ would be awesome

Yeah, enjoy your trip to Japan!
Give Masahiro my best greetings!
I really miss hanging around with him and his friends and family! It was good days! being a little sentimental

You talked about a live chat, I’m very interested to join if possible! That would be awesome!

Thank you Grant, Kevin, Karl and you other minions for taking care of the forum!

Wow there Kyle, you better stay away from those margaritas, or you’ll be stuck in Japan with a brown fluffy jacket in no time!

I’m indubitably interested in the live chat, so please make it happen

While I wouldn’t say no to beef jerky, I prefer a good old piece of solid smoked beef with nowhere near the sugar amount that beef jerky has. If Masahiro visits Sweden, I’ll get it.

Now for all the forum users, I implore you to start uploading videos. It’ll be a great way of keeping the site active. You don’t even have to play the shamisen. Any shamisen content will do. I will try and upload something in the coming weeks, and Anne and I will get something done in a couple of weeks as well.

Take care Kyle!

^ or coffee related topic… it seems its pretty important the two mix

Doing my part trying not to be annoying with the posting though xD i post maybe 1 thread a day with atleast 9 replies for all currently active posts (1 per post unless its replied to then it gets another)

Hope i’m not becoming a nuisance tho :stuck_out_tongue: would hate to be an unwanted forum flooder ^.^

Hmm… infact… i’ll make my first video ever… opening my shamisen and 1st putting it together ^.^ i think…

Hows that sound? My 1st time ever holding a shamisen and putting it together.

Well, as long as you don’t start closing in on my post count there will be no problem  Don’t worry, I was the same before I got my shamisen and the period when I just got started. After all, it’s an investment into something new and crazy that about 1% of the people you know have heard of.

We have a few threads going on. I don’t think anyone is against the activity we have. But hey, you should do a video when you get your shamisen! If not for playing, people would be really interested in seeing you unpack the shamisen you bought.

true, Awesome ^.^ will hafta film it then
haha well i may just top you in posts but we will see sooner or later ^.^ only been here a couple weeks to a month and Im at 141 it seems :stuck_out_tongue:

hopefully nobody minds our posts ^^ seems to me loads comment on them, if not randomly talking about coffee beans or a tea vs coffee war.

Cana - hey, what’s a forum without posts???

First crack!

I’m interested in doing a video chat.

Sweet! Everyone up for a video chat, work out a date/time when everyone (hopefully) can do it. I think we’d be able to do anytime, provided not too late. (and last time I was there, they went to bed at 4am, so anything’s possible.) I’ll start a new thread for this.

I think the posts have been great. Whether it’s about coffee, movies, fashion (ala Myjob007) it’s all good because it’s been inclusive so far. It’s about the community.

Like Karl says, I too strongly recommend that people post more videos of themselves. Jamie Low had a great video where he explained his practice regiment, Anne’s been posting awesome vids of her progression on Kuroishi Yosare Bushi, Karl’s posted his progress, Liam’s posted his thoughts on bachi technique and Sid just made a fantastic video of his time with Jack in Ireland (which will be featured on the Bachido Blogcast when I get back). These are all great things. Videos put life and voices to the faces we see on the forum daily.

All ready to go. Just need to pack a few cans of whoopass…

Hello!
Kyle, have a smooth landing on Sapporo. Hope you will have a fruitful stay in Japan.
Fellow members,
Do not worry about Kyle. We are not trying kidnap Kyle. However, it is the most beautiful season in Hokkaido and it might keep him there. Sorry it is not my fault.
Cheers to Bachido activity!

 makes sense linda
definately will try to do the vid today… train to catch in… 1 hr and 30 minutes… so i’m gunna pack my laptop and get ready to go

ALSO theres a problem i may run into!
i have no temporary case… or way to protect my instrument… and i’d rather not put it in a “bin bag” (trash bag) to protect it from rain…

Any suggestions?
Doubt it would fit in my banjo bag but i may… bring it just incase…

Cana, got a light quilt or a blanket? In desperation, maybe wrap the shami in that and then in the “bin bag”…

What happened to the Kyle Abbott I know and love? You definitely should have eaten that pickle - you’re getting soft in your old age bro!

More posting the better! I for one do my best to come on here and respond to the threads when I can. However most the time I read everything on my phone, and do not have the patience to actually reply back on it, or I have so much to say that it would take me 10 minutes to actually whip it out on a cell phone.

Anyway, the live chat is going to be so cool and I’ll make it a plan to be awake for it (because I’m sure it’s going to be some ridiculous hour of the night for me here in CA).

Please everyone, upload videos or post your favorites! It helps keep the discussion going and the spirits high!
