{Me on throat singing voice} He’s B~H!~ The great austrian taxi driver / B~H!~ He is also a boss shamisener/ B~H!~ … [normal voice] Okay, that’s all I got so far. "
{Karl slides in} “faaaaaaaarr… BH will goooo far, with hiiiiis car.”
{Back to Kyle} “Good one Karl!”
{Back to Karl} “Thanks Kyle!”
{Kevin shreds} “shkoobledoobleboodle”
{ending with car horn}
LOL. lets go for it
Woa you guys are nuts! But hey…bachido mon looking like a steering wheel is obviously a taxi cab reference right ? Plus it’s circular, like looking down on a freshly brewed cup of joe!
So there it is…bachido mon=Shamisen society+coffee+taxi !
It’s surely fate!
Hey Karl, Post your video here once you’ve learned this ,all right !?!
Cool talkin to ya on skype the other day man! Yeah!
Yeah, I’m planning on booking a time at friend’s place who lives at a place where I can go all out with the baching. Until then I’m working on the shamisen composer man! Gotta tell you, it’s starting to look nice. Should be done in the next few days.
And yeah, next time I’ll ready my webcam. Did you remember to feed the cat?
what a nice weekend besides 3 birthdays and the baptism of I guess my "grand"niece I also got to see my nephew (2 months) for the first time and the food was good too . . .
and looking forward to that shamisen composer and the first cover version of the taxi song yeah . . .
as for the lyrics I especially like the boss shamisener part actually like I might have only told Kyle via personal message earlier I sometimes play in the car and it has attracted customers a couple of times so they picked me out of the waiting line even though I was not first in line and so I got an earlier fare which usually translates to one more fare that day than otherwise . . .
and I know I should post something too unfortunately I lost one recording and got a brutal built in mic on the new laptop, did buy an extra microphone that also sucked and will likely spend hard earned money on other things than equipment at least until I also got my next instrument made which is on the horizon and just might be good enough for a cool performance too . . .
BH,
That’s a cool story about playing in your taxi to attract customers !
Definately post something when you get your next instrument made! Sounds cool!
yeah I mean I wouldn’t have thought of that but some walking along the waiting line from behind stop short and get in . . . usually this is followed by questions and a very nice and funny conversation in the course of which I of course tell them about the grand and great role model for that stick I have managed to attach 3 strings to . . .
also speaking of spreading the shamisen spirit I have emailed about the austrian taxi driver tune without delay of course to the chief executive of the largest taxi fleet in austria’s second largest town http://878.at for which I drive and she got a kick out of it
our motto is hm “driving without borders” or so I don’t know how to translate precisely but anyway sort of actively cherishing instead of not speaking of the variety of cultures our drivers come from so she definitely liked the tune and shamisen music and it being a contribution from oh so far away japan too . . .
BH,
Cool. I take it the three string thing you play is the one featured in your prof. Pic. It looks totally awesome with the sun streaking down or whatever that ray of light is(?) Also the tiny glimpse of what I have to guess as an Austrian suburb is also cool!
I can’t believe the chief executive knows about this little ditty! Wow!
Driving without Borders sounds like the title for episode 1! Haha!
sun and rainbow and the first three string thing I created out of a mood before knowing about the shamisen and that led to discovering the shamisen and this site for me . . .
so I cherish that one but am practicing on the second one I did which got enough range to even make use of shamisen tabs and the dou was made of a “Cars 2” pencil case . . . also quite cool since I got in contact with a pixar artist earlier via my snowboard site . . .
http://freecarvers.com/sem/saosem3.jpg
only recently I have uploaded the pictures again so also the other links on my profile page are working again - orange and electric third stick got well working electrics which is awesome but no acoustic sound quality at all and a bad playing feel so I play the saosem until I get the next one made . . .
yeah the first (or second counting the american way) floor patio is cool and makes up for the tiny indoor dimensions of my apartment and I would rather call this city than suburb a lot of smaller houses and gardens scattered around an area that is close to the center of the city and a lot of green spots and parks in general in this town . . .
as for driving without borders the sad fact is that not many customers take our fresh slogan to heart as in going for a ride to spain or something but sometimes you get out of town and paid for that so that is always very nice . . .
Street Blogcast 01 Airport Mocha (actually the first uploaded by my mighty self and great quality youtube clip ever)
"a coffee and shamisen cab cleaning break near the airport of Graz (Austria) to the sounds of Rage Against The Machine’s first album which is awesome . . .
(should you ever fly in or out of Graz do not hesitate to search for the coffee vending machine within the premises of the airport’s supermarket especially for a cup of “schokochino” (american mocha) which is the best of its kind in town for sure . . ."
YEAH! Cool! I’ve always loved Rage against the machine’s first
Album the most (compared to later material they produced).
Wow! Cool to get a view of the legendary taxi and cars dou Shami!
Thanks BH!
yeah another bombtrack, killing in the name, take the power back, settle for nothing, bullet in the head, know your enemy, wake up, fistful of steel, township rebellion and freedom as far as I can say without looking at the cd cover ha I must have bought this one 5 times over the years to replace scratched or lost discs . . .
also I just have happened to notice that the dropped d riffs seem to come easy around 0 3 4 (ni agari) I only tried out freedom so far
(sorry for the sort of off topic but I just dug out the cool collection)

Tom Morello is fantastic! He even inspired me to try to find some interesting/unconventional sounds on Shamisen. Like the time I figured out how to make the Shamisen sound like a “Shotgun!” . . .
Just hopping in to say that the first TWO RATM albums are amazingly epic. Funk metal is the s**t!
wow I wouldn’t have expected that sound
since we are all or at least a couple of fans here I gotta say there was a time when I would only listen to nine inch nails for a couple of months and then another couple of months of almost only listening to rage against the machine and it was like I physically needed at least a couple of songs each day to relax . . . of course “thanks” to those days when at least the music was good those two bands got a special place in my heart ever since even though I mostly listen to other and all kinds of music again . . .
also getting into the first album of ratm on e guitar with the original tabulature was an awesome experience . . .
anyway I got the collection of the major albums and wonder could I have missed out on any other ratm tunes over the years? I only know about that cool alternate version of bombtrack and “darkness” from the crow movie . . . speaking of which . . .
