Hello, hello!

Hi, Bachido! I’m Chris.

I live in Toyama and have been playing minyo shamisen for about a year and change now.

I’ve actually been lurking the site silently for around the same time now, so I felt it was past time to sign up.

Hopefully it’s okay just to say Hi for now.

よろしくお願いします〜

It is nice you finally joined Bachido. Welcome to the group! A few members of the group just came back from Berlin where was held the 3rd Shamicamp. We learned a lot and we had tons of fun.

I visited Toyama 3 years ago for 2 or 3 days and it was nice. I didn’t know much about shamisen at the time as I joined Bachido the year after. I just remember I liked to see the mountains around there.

If you ever want to join the Shamicamp and play with some of Bachido members, I’ve heard somewhere that in autumn of 2017 there will be one in Japan.

Hi Chris! Awesome to see you here on bachido!

Welcome, friend!

Thanks for the warm welcome, guys! We’re in the final push before summer holidays so I’m a little late getting back to this thread.

Jacintha, yeah! That’s Toyama in a nutshell. Lovely, ever present mountains.

We’ve got a nice min’yo tradition out here, which I’m slowly working my way through.

My friend lived in Toyama for 4 years but he doesn’t seem to know much about it. I’d love to know more about it. you can post some stuff on the forum or just add me on Facebook.

Really? I wonder if I know him…

Maybe I’ll post some stuff about it this summer! I’m lucky enough to teach at a school that focuses on traditional dance and music.
