Hello!

Hello Bachido! I am Sangero

I am currently living on the West Coast. I don’t play Shamisen yet although I do have plans to acquire one in the future, but I do study Sanshin under a teacher.

I’ve been lurking on the forums for awhile so I’m not entirely new haha.

Nice to meet you all! I look forward to posting.

Welcome to Bachido Jaron! If you have interesting things to share about sanshin, many of us would be happy to read about it

Thank you! It is nice to meet you. Sure maybe I’ll make a post at some point. If you have any questions feel free to ask I’d love to share with you.

Hi Jaron and welcome! It’s sooooooo cool we have another sanshin student (I’m writing like I play it, but it’s not true!!!). Who is your sanshin teacher?

Hello Sakura! Nice to meet you. My teacher is from Osaka, although she moved to the states many years ago. She studied in Okinawa for sometime though and that is where she learned Sanshin.

I’m very jealous, have been self taught, but still having a wonderful time. It would be so nice to have a good teacher!

Jaron, I really want to know someone who plays sanshin! Well, I’m subscribed to bachido not because I play shamisen/derivatives, but because of my love for traditional Japanese music, and now my dream is becoming true: knowing Japanese (or non-ones) people, and having friendship with them, who play traditional Japanese stuff. Well, you’re asking yourself “if Sakura isn’t Japanese, why is she called Sakura?”. Well… it’s a nickname. My real name is Alessandra, but I prefer to call myself Ale or Ale-chan. Sakura is a nick given by a friend of mine, who plays koto/shamisen/juushichigen. Jaron, could you please mail me at Alessandra-dandrea@alice.it? I have an important thing to say you!

Hey Kevin! It is nice to meet another Sanshin player! What have you been learning on the Sanshin?

Sure Ale I’ll pm you. I sent a message on Bachido. Is that fine?

Hi! Jaron, I read your message, but I’m not sure if I can reply. I’ll try, though
I’m wondering if sanshin is rare as biwa, but I think not really…

They are pretty easy to get a hold of so not rare at all. If you are looking for one I’d recommend checking out http://www.asobi-sanshin.com/

No no, I don’t want to play sanshin, but I don’t know if blind people can…

Yep! Blind people should be able to play Sanshin.

But I’m not really sure

Blind people were at the origin of the development of the tsugaru shamisen. Why could not they play sanshin as well ?

Sorry do you mean me? I said they should be able to play.

No no, Jaron, that’s an answer to Sakura’s post !

Oh! Okay lol. Nice to meet you by the way!

Yeah, but… maybe there is a connection also with jiuta shamisen, since tsugaru was born later
