I was wondering if anyone is living in Germany and knows of a good Shamisen instructor. I am currently living in Korea but will be moving to Germany in March 2013. I have looked here in Korea but most people don’t even know what a Shamisen is…
I am hoping to be decent by the time I get to Germany but I want someone to show me what I am doing wrong, etc.

Not at all. In fact this is probably the best place on all the Internet to post this question seeing as we have now recently dubbed bachido the “international Shamisen society!”
Well personally I don’t know of any instructors in Germany but there are quite a few bachido members in Europe and they keep talking about flying to each others countries and meeting up to play together so . . .
There is a jiuta shamisen teacher in Frankfurt, if that helps. Try Naoko Kikuchi, http://www.naokokikuchi.com. (Although the English pages on her site don’t mention shamisen specifically, there are vids out there with her playing it, so worth a shot…)
