Everyone is welcome to join . I only ask that you learn the parts well before next month when we meet because we won’t really have time to rehearse so I’m counting on everyone to know what to play if you do want to join in.
And so ladies and gentlemen here it is. Ninjari ban ban for Anne, Grant, Kyle, Adrian, Pat, Kyoko, Mari and perhaps Jamie Low.
Damn bro, you’ve got yourself a studio there! Is that in your house? This is excellent! Thanks for putting this together so well (though I missed the giggles ) Honestly, I think this is gonna be even more epic than the Gaga cover series! (and maybe more viral, we hope?)
Oh tabs for this song? What incredible timing that Karl just completely his Shamisen Composer, am I right?!? http://shamisen.karlhedlund.se/
and hope you guys record it.
Man, that would certainly be the most epic BachiFail if we forgot to record it.
Aaaaaah! So excited for this~!
Thanks for putting together a break-down video, Kevin.
I can comfortably play the melody for the chorus, albeit with a slightly different fret work. Shouldn’t be too hard to rework it, though. Sorry we haven’t skyped yet…
oh man this is gonna sound great I couldn’t have imagined that I mean the solo shamisen versions of the other songs already sounded cool but this will just rock what a great arrangement
Oh Dear God! Ok…confession time. I didn’t really look this over before posting this link. I just reviewed it and discovered that AGAIN …for the second time (first time being during my Skype session with Grang Reimer) I messed up the chords for the verse of this song!
If you are learning the verse please ignore the chord demonstration here I accidental played the chords out of order!
Grant, you Must Skype me soon so we can work out the verse part for ya!
Grant, Kyle, Anne, Pat, Adrian, Kyoko, Linda, Mari and anyone else interested in learning something to play for this song please Skype me if you can within the next two weeks! Closer to may we will all be very focused on Kita no Hibiki and our jongara if we are doing a solo for the tai kai so lets try to meet sooner For this project ok?
Note to all bachido Hirosaki 2013 team members…
If you’d like to join in this Ninjari ban ban side project but feel you have no time to learn or are unwilling to learn any of the parts I have a proposal for you…
The intro and the instrumental interlude both have a repeated bass note that can be hammered out on the Ichi no Ito tuned to C (we will all already be tuned to c for Kita no Hibiki) therefore if you want to join in on those parts please please do so! I just had a vision of how unbelievably epic this song is going to sound if the whole bunch of us are playing this like some epic huge Shamisen ensemble.
The parts for those members wanting to just join in on the Ichi no Ito would be as follows…
Intro =
Ichi no Ito open string in rhythm count =1234,1234,1234,1234 +repeat
That is literally all you need to play
First chorus =out
Instrumental interlude = same exact thing on open Ichi no Ito.

Kevin, somehow Mari and I thought you were putting this together for Norm’s Bachido meet-up in Tokyo (where, of course, we could still all play it together ). But since you’re addressing the Bachido taikai people about it now, sounds like this is for playing in Hirosaki/Kanagi (?) instead. If that’s the case, Mari and I are out, since we only arrive in Japan/Tokyo literally hours before Norm’s event…
There’s no plan for this really. Like I said I only expected a few members to join me in this idea off to the side during a break from kita no hibiki ta kai rehearsal-time. So there’s no plan at all. It’s all 100% just for fun. Now that I know more members are interested in joining in I plan to film this in Misawa, Hirosaki, Kanagi, in between Kanagi and Hirosaki, during restroom breaks, while we’re eating lunch, at Chitoshan in Tokyo, France, the moon, my bathtub! YEAH!
After next month I’m planning to post like 800 different versions of us playing this all over the place!
Well maybe 800 is a bit ambitious . 799 will probably do, right Linda? 笑!
I hope we make a bunch of videos. I think it’s good to work on many different things and not focus to hard on Kita no Hibiki and the Jonkara. You’ll loose the feeling of playing and the fun of it.
I practice almost daily, and I realized that I get better in my jonkara and at Kita No Hibiki when I’ve been playing other stuff or just focused on a technique for a while. So keep hitting us with more of this Kevin! I want it all!
I got the notation for the indian song I’m playing with my friend in my other thread
with me. I really think we should do a group thing on that.
I can see us all sitting in the forest around a lake or in a park playing it softly together until we all fall into trance. Lol.
I plan to film this … During restroom breaks, my bathtub! YEAH!
Wheee, in the bathroom! I’m so there! 笑
Glad to hear of the “pan-Japan” playing plans, it was sad when I thought Mari and I were going to be left out…

By the time we all meet in Tokyo we should be well practiced on this tune so you guys can just jump in! I’m extremely excited with the possibility of you or Mari adding a koto part.
