hi guys,
i have a seller in mind to buy a shamisen from but i have also been eyeing up this one:
what do you guys/gals think?
i think the wood looks nice and sound and goes together well. anyone see anything i don’t?
looks perfect for what you want amanda ^.^
So, who’s lucky on those?
Actually I woke up at 6.30 am to bid in last seconds on the green one, was waiting carefully and pressed bid, but ebay told me that I was not logged in. What a fail
wasn’t me either, i couldn’t quite stretch to the shipping cost as well when it went higher. (little broke atm
However i DID win this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/370625099952?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_502wt_1396
for what i think is an exceptionally good price.
Once i have it i can start thinking about the materials i want to use and maybe get around to some prototypes and make enough profit to get my shamisen without guilt XD
oh darn your the one who bought that D:
xD really wanted it, oh well best you have it though ^.^
Will send you more ideas amanda if you ever wanna chat about them some more ^.^
just got back from my 1st trip to castle coch took a train there today… was pretty nice ^.^
if you had bidded i wouldn’t have done so! ah well
all ideas are welcome anytime
love castell coch, so pretty!
xD i tryed too but it seems like you got it instead
i have a bekkou bachi though so i should be good o:
yea it was very pretty
i had a welshcake type thing there aswell… apparently it was supposed to have butter on it but meh it was good
was freezing there though! still is, very windy everywhere in wales it seems.
I’ll just leave it here
o if only they shipped to UK!
Talk to the seller. Maybe it’ll work out.
He/She was agree for international shipping, until I told where I’m from.
Hmm, doesn’t quite look like a Tsugaru one to me… The hatomune seems to be nagauta (as best as I can see from trying to blow up the pic), the itomaki seem to be two nagauta ones (which don’t match each other) and one Tsugaru(?) one. The metal fitting at the end of the rod that goes thru the doh (can’t remember what it’s called and too lazy to look it up ), seems to be an afterthought, and it looks like they have shimmed it with two additional pieces of wood(???). Might be worth asking about those things before bidding…
Maybe it’s 50 years old. Grab it while you can!
I agree with Linda, this is a nagauta shamisen. A lot of sellers throw tsugaru in there because that’s what people want and they are a lot more expensive. As she said, the nakazao attachment is a little strange. It looks like a repair to me. There is also no kamigoma either. That being said it has a kouki sao and would be a good project for the right price.
KH, you’re right, these are typical of the 50-60 year old shamisen. The sticker I can read is 22 years old and there are a bunch of stickers older than that.
