Rainy Day Ringo Bushi

Hey guys, I’m all flooded out here in my little mountain village, and I reckon I oughta learn Ringo bushi, see’n as I’ve been puttin’ it off’n’all.

This song is a little different than I’m used to, so it was kind of difficult to learn some of the parts, but definitely type. I’d love to hear how you guys play it!

Sounding great, man. Keep it up!

Thumbs up Travis!

Sorry to hear you were affected by the floods - hope things “normalize” out that way soon. At least your shamisen is high and dry!!!

Glad your shamisen appears dry (got some bling twanglin’ on that shiznit!) and your new bekkou bachi survived the zombie raids!

All in all, it sounds great dude! And I’m sure in watching the video, you can see how awesome your bachi strikes have become.

Some constructive critique: The next order of business (or “bid’ness” as I prefer to call it) would be to angle/push your pinky towards the assthigh of the bachi. You might notice some interesting affects to your technique. Or maybe not. Actual results might take a few years to fully comprehend, but it’s worth a shot.

And for bonus points: As you play Ringo Bushi, try playing harmony on the piano with your toes! :stuck_out_tongue:

Ahaha! Thanks guys! Yeah, I understand the grip now, I feel a difference on the assthigh for sure, especially during sukui!

Also, thanks Linda!

Sounded really good Travis, nice one!

Wow, Travis, REALLY nice! I’m so jealous! I’ve been working on Ringo Bushi, too. Thanks for putting up such a nice performance of it. I had an idea of how the song went, but you really fleshed it out for me.

(I haven’t bought Kyle’s lesson yet, but I plan to!)

Uhm, “ASSTHIGH???” (I’ve got such a visual going here!) - Is that a technical term or …? lol

But, seriously, could someone please demonstrate what that means?
