Song sharing thread

I think Sou Da Ne was one of the first shamisen videos I saw

By window pane thingie, do you mean that you get the video directly in the thread as a clickable image? If so, to the right of the thumbs up/down buttons you should have a “Share” button. Click that and copy that short link and it will work fine here.

Yea that’s what I mean, and it won’t work for me, or I am really just an idiot. Maybe you could do it for me Karl.

Nope can’t do it.

Kyle or Luke, maybe there’s something up with the Embed link? I was going to suggest to Jonathan that he try pasting the embed code directly from YouTube (which I have done here before successfully), but that doesn’t work today. I then tried to embed his vid here myself, using the Bachido link to the right, and that doesn’t work for me today, either (altho’ it has always worked up till now). So have we got a gremlin? (In case it makes a difference for Luke to check out, I’m using Chrome on my iPad, also as done before.)

Linda, I Also use iPad,and I think its not a problem with embedding, its with the video…
Some videos can be played at mobile devices, some not.

Thanks Linda, I thought it was just me. I’m also using chrome, although from my desktop. Oh well, the link still works.

oh . . . employer in the starting image right there . . . and you see the design of our taxi fleet

so I don’t know if there may be other problems on other platforms but to me embedding youtube clips always works following the format of individual video links as then shown in the browser address bar like http:// www.youtube.com/ watch?v=mQnr2kv2zEI so NOT https at the beginning (erase the s) and not some fancy link that comes out of browsing some youtube playlist which might give you “player related or whatnot” in the link so the format above should work which is the format it shows usually I guess . . .

for example Jonathan’s link was . . .

if I reduce it to (without that space) http://www.youtube.com/ watch?v=1VCnl6LlwfE

yeah so it’s gotta be in the format of

http://youtube.com/watch?v=

(followed by the the Xe??$f4323Cv or whatever video code you will find in whatever link youtube might offer)

Just click the Share button in youtube and you won’t have to edit ANYTHING.

Your link becomes

http://youtu.be/1VCnl6LlwfE

I put it as a quote so that it shows the link instead of the video.

http://youtube.com/watch?v= and I add VBwckGFlVH8 to it

ah yeah I guess now I it has come full circle and I’ll have another shot of whiskey thank you I hope the above made sense . . .

Who cares? Let’s party!

This is so japanese. Reminds me of the Mystical Ninja game on N64. I don’t speak Japanese (yet), but I can tell the lyrics are probably pretty meaningless, if you know what I mean

absolutely and partying on with tx9LdAcnNF8

Nice! B H, you are my hero! And dude, those taxis are freakin’ nice!
You should see the ones here in Cleveland LOL! Think of a yellow police cruiser, (although the police cruisers in Austria are probably really nice too, not so here!) Thanks again!

I gotta say I love the police (okay that might be an overstatement in general even though my uncle was among them) but while I paid my fair share of tickets I was on an what ended up to be a 450 euros special cruise once and we were kinda late to the next check point so I stepped on it and when I saw the speed patrol I think I got a glimpse at the indicator showing “69” a moment before I hit the brakes . . . I stopped (was waved to stop) and the policeman said “it’s 30 here and that applies for taxis too” . . . considering his tone of voice I replied sort of “you gonna let me go?” . . . and his reply was “. . .” and he let me go that was cool I mean I usually make it a habit to not go over 50 in a 30 zone and that encounter could have I am rather sure cost me my license so the way that guy handled it was cool

I’ve always liked this version of Aiya Bushi. It gives you a sense of what the full min’you ensemble sounded like before Tsugaru shamisen went off to do its own thing. (Although I guess the continued existence of these sorts of performances kind of belies the complete independence of the shamisen from its past…) Plus, there’s dancing!

Masahiro destroying Nikata Bushi along with Shinta. Watch that bachi technique kids!

Damn.
