Team Bachido! NEW!! Kita no Hibiki Dynamic lesson!

Haha! fox sign = BabyMetal!

(Stream of thought as I watch)

Haha! I like the spontaneous (I assume) bachi mic.

I was just thinking of that a few days ago. Man, we record a LOT of Kita no Hibiki. Dare I say as much (or more?) than Ninjari Ban Ban. I think that could be a testament to how good the song is!

Also, though part of me thinks “ah, we’ve recorded Kita no Hibiki so much”, it’s also kinda cool to keep a record of it’s tonal development (within the players and the song itself) as the years go by. Just like it’s interesting to hear a player (like Asano Sho, Masahiro Nitta, Kevin Kmetz, et all) play Jonkara Bushi year after year. You can witness how the player’s tone/feeling is changing year after year, through the same piece.
Anywho, just popped in my mind. Moving on…

“You know what I’m sayin’, metal!”

Great explanation, Kevin! Good idea to present the basic areas of where to get quiet and where to get loud. Very easy to follow along with!

I have one tiny request that should only take less than 5 minutes! Could you run through the entire Kita No Hibiki with the dynamics you have presented? As you are playing, you could yell out “quiet!” and “loud!” so people know when to change volumes as they play. Tying everything together in one final video will put all of the pieces into place!

I’m so excited for this year’s competition!! I think we’re going to do very well, and have much fun!

Bachi on!!!

Who can say “NO!” to Kyle Abbott?

AuSOME!! Thank you so much, Kevin! Haha! Loved the disco lights in the background! ;-D

I’ll have to talk with Mr. Panda when I get there. What the hell? Everyone MUST like me, dammit!

Man it’s played so fast! My speed of the suberi part that is like in Akita Nikata Bushi is way too slow. Either my technique is shite or I haven’t practiced enough to build the muscles required.

Nice…that video is what I needed…especially the panda part. Like I’ve been waiting for that my whole life.

That panda’s a dick.

Excuse me, maybe do you still have this Kita no Hibiki notation? Thanks!

I don’t seem to have it. Best idea would be to ask Kyle or post your request to the whole community.

Good afternoon everyone, I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find the annotation for how to play Kita no Hibiki, and can it be suitable to play just for one person? I am not really motivated to learn other song then this for now.

It’s the last song in Kyle’s book Shamisen of Japan.

What is the best tuning for Kita no Hibiki, I tried to find online but nothing on what tuning it should have. Thank you!!

I replied on mail but seems perhaps it does not get reflected on the chat here. Thank you for your suggestion!

The tuning is listed as Niagari.

Thank you again. Will try that!

Have been watching some videos I was wondering. For Kita No Hibiki tsubo 000(sukui) 300, 200(sukui), 300(sukui) 400 (sukui). For the 4 it is the ring finger on the score tab) so I was wondering why it is not middle finger for the 3 and pointy finger for the 2 hence not needing to move back and forth with the hands. Later in the score tab I understand that is it the pointy finger because one needs to move downwards but for the first part using middle finger for 3 and ring finger for 4th would be perfect not needing to move the pointy finger from 3 to 2 then back to 3 again. I am talking about the 3rd line in Kita No Hibiki on about the fourth page. Where the score tab is just almost sukui and and 00s, any insights would be appreciated
