Tour of Team Bachido (FAQ)

Thanks for forwarding that to Toshi-san, Linda~

Toshi san! Ohisashiburi!! That would be great to have you join in again! Look forward to seeing you! Yes, please check out the Application Packet which Linda forwarded.

Also, do you know if Mai san would like to join in again this year? We’d love to have her participate again, as well as any more shamisen players you’d like to bring.

I wonder if any of the passes will be worth it if I’m going for a train trip to Misawa. From Europe the flights only go to Tokyo and the ticket is already booked! Of course I could take myself to the other airport and fly from there after arriving in Tokyo but kind of getting interested in taking a train ride.

Are you planning on ordering those flights from Aomori in advance?

As for making yourself understood, I’ve found during my travels that gestures make people understand faster than broken language

Linda:Thanks! I found it!I’ll submit it soon!
Kyle:We married last year, now she is my wife:) Mai-san said she will go to Hirosaki Taikai, but he will join alex-chen-san’s group.

Oh!!! Congratulations!! Much happiness to you and Mai san!

Oh, Chen san is forming a group for Hirosaki? I didn’t know that. Do you know that Team Bachido is playing at Aomori Taikai?

Toshi san: Congratulations!!
Kyle: Chen san showed me a beautiful song at the Year End party in Tokyo which his group was going to play at Hirosaki Taikai 2014. So he is not able to join in Bachido group.
Nahomi san said she surely would join in Bachido team again.

Kyoko! Thank you for letting me know. I’m sad he can’t join us this year! He’s such a nice person and was fun to have him on the team. I hope he does well at Hirosaki Taikai!

Ah, great! I’m glad Nahomi san can make it!

And of course, it’s great that you can join us too!

Ah! I forgot to add. On the subject of travel from Misawa to Sapporo. Nitta san is suggesting that we take the ferry. I’m sure it’ll be a bit slower than a plane, but man I think it’d be fun and relaxing. Like a little mini-cruise around Japan!

Last year if I remember correctly, Nittta papa said it took about 10 hours from Sapporo to Hirosaki by ferry.

A ship sounds like awesome! Where does it go from, do we need to book in advance and what does it cost?

And of course, it’s great that you can join us too!
I always appreciate your kindness, Kyle!!!
FYI : For all of you out of Japan, from April first on, the consumption tax of Japan will go up from 5 percent to 8 percent. Just because I am drunk now, let me tell you more in detail tomorrow being sober. I do not know how it can influence your tour of Hirosaki and Hokkaido, but anyway, you should be warned to be aware of some possible extra tax pay.
BTW: it is no joke, no April fool by Japanese government (^_^;)

10 hours may seem like a long time (considering it only takes an hour and a half by plane), but the tour is such an action packed time that the rest of nothing to do would be rather nice. Would also be a fun spot to make a video!

Karl, I’m getting that information as we speak. He said if we go as a group, it gets really cheap!

Thanks for letting us know about the consumption tax, Kyoko! 3 percent probably won’t be very taihen, but still good to make sure we leave home with enough cash to cover everything.

Sounds epic Kyle! I love travelling by sea, especially if we’ll see the nature meanwhile! So I’m down for it.

So Kyle, when would people be ferrying - May 5 after checkout? Also, how do you want people to notify you about food allergies - here in the forum, by PM, or what?

Oh man, fune party~! If it’s anything like the shinkansen last year, it’ll be a wicked time for sure.

Karl, Awesome!

Linda, it could be May 5th, I believe. Basically it’s up to us, whenever we want to head up to Sapporo. Most likely we’ll be getting home late on the 5th, so I’d vote that go on the morning of the 6th.

For food allergies: Here, by PM, anything is fine as long as I hear about it, and can pass it on to Nitta san.

Ladies and gentleman! Some news / changes!

Firstly, we’ve decided that Team Bachido will be attending the Hirosaki taikai! Basically, Hirosaki has the lovely sakura park and would be a much nicer place to go than the Aomori taikai, which is urban.

This is better, I think. Not only will we be going to a more beautiful location, but several Bachido members (like Pete and Hibiki from England) are already going to Hirosaki, so we would be able to meet up with them there.

Next, the date for the Bachido Festival has been changed. It turns out the 8th wouldn’t work, so it will be held on the 6th of May.

The day after the taikai (5th) at 1pm, we will take the ferry and arrive in Sapporo at 10pm. (Note, we will not be returning to Misawa) Sorry for the schedule change.

For more information on the Bachido Festival, check out this new page!

Bachi on!!
Kyle

Mina san! Some important news from Nitta san regarding the Tour of Team Bachido! Many thanks to Adrian for translating in my absence.

Hey there everyone~

This year we have decided to participate in the HIROSAKI SHAMISEN TAIKAI!

First off, we have a simple set of dates and info, with more detailed info to follow.

MAY 2ND - Gather in MISAWA, meet each other, practice
MAY 3RD - Head to HIROSAKI, individual performances
MAY 4TH - Group performance
MAY 5TH - Members not headed to SAPPRO part ways, members headed to SAPPORO travel up on this day

As a note, we have begun to create the solid and final list of members who will be participating as part of Team Bachido. So please, if you wish to participate, be sure to let us (Abbott Kyle or Nitta Masahiro) know ASAP!! As of now, we anticipate having about 30 members who wish to participate. The deadline for signing up is MARCH 10; please decide and let us know of your attendance BY THAT DATE.

SAPPORO INTERNATIONAL SHAMISEN FESTIVAL
Date: TUESDAY, MAY 6TH
We are currently in planning for an exciting event up in SAPPRO!
Ideas for events so to have far are to include a concert/performance, group rehearsal, and group performance.

For Team Bachido members who would like to come along after the TAIKAI, we are planning to take a ferry departing from HACHINOE for SAPPORO at 1PM on MAY 5TH. We will be arriving at TOMAKOMAI (HOKKAIDO) around 8-8:15PM.

On the evening of arriving in SAPPRO, members will stay at an Inn. As it stands, we will hold the festival on MAY 6TH. Should any updates come along, we will notify everyone.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do feel free to contact us.

Just heard from Nitta Masahiro.

A few things will be different this year.

1.) instead of rent a car we will take the train

2.) hotel will be closer to Hirosaki

3.) Nitta suggests taking a plane straight to Sapporo rather than the Ferry.

I’ll post in more detail in a new topic.

Well this is certainly getting confusing…
