Bonsoir,
Hello,
I bought a shamisen, but I do not know what kind it is … can someone help me know what it is? thank you!
nagauta
or possibly kouta. I think more nagauta.
I think nagauta too. btw Cana, how is a kouta ?

Kouta is a shamisen style played without a bachi it is interesting.
thank you for your answers! I find this very lively and very interactive forum really.
I had a little idea of what it would be like shamisen, but as a complete beginner, I wanted to learn more and get your opinion.
this would shamisen has almost 80 years, there also have to see whether this is true, if it is possible.
the koma koma is a plastic 11mm high, it bothers me a lot to the height of the strings on the neck. so I made a koma less high wooden be more comfortable and waiting to buy one that will suit me.
So, Linda and Cana, kouta is played on a nagauta shamisen without bachi and with a kouta koma, isn’t it ?
Angus, the color of the koma reminds me of ivory. Is it really plastic ?
it is really plastic, not ivory… 11mm

I think so… I think it is actually called a kouta shamisen. But I am not sure. Shamisen | KAMEYA Shamisen OnlineShop according to this shamisen selling website they list it as its own shamisen.
So it could just be its own shamisen looks like nagauta though.
Welcome to Bachido Angus!
thanks Kevin !
Bienvenue Angus-san!
Yes, I think it is a nagauta´s one too
merci Paco ! ;-))
I agree, it’s looks almost identical to my nagauta
it’s looks almost identical ? what differences between ? ^^’

between…?
Kouta and Nagauta?
playing style
also Nagauta is for (Music: Kabuki, Classical Japanese dance. Also for Kouta Minyou.)
Kouta is what the geisha played according to the history I have found and seen in old paintings.
both nagauta and kouta have similar builds… similar accessories… almost same sound. Neither have azuma sawari.
I hope this helps! as I cannot personally tell you the size comparison or the feelings from playing both.
this helps, yes! I’m a beginner and I learn every day ^^"
Hello, the differences are very minor between the pictured Shamisen and my own ones.
Those are mostly down to being hand-made instruments and different wood used. Nothing to worry about.
