'Yasaburo Bushi' - New Shamisen Lesson just released!

Check out the Yasaburo Bushi shamisen lesson here! http://bachido.com/learn/songs/yasaburo-bushi

While you enjoy this new course, I will enjoy a hearty vegetable egg dish with orange juice and nattou! What could be better than this… other than a doughnut? (End of video: winding up the stringy natto strands)

This new shamisen course is online and available only at Bachido.com!

NATTOOOOOOO!!!

The joy of marriage and in laws ! Hahaha. Yasaburo bushi…Yeah right!

Yea i don’t see the melody as anything really Happy :DD

Don’t get me wrong the song is awesome but it doesn’t sound so joyful :stuck_out_tongue:

Natto…? Why would you do that to yourself?!

Kevin and Ortjo: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

Adrian! It actually tastes great with eggs.

I suppose I’d be willing to give natto and eggs a try… The thing I found that covers the flavor up best is wasabi.

Have you tried natto tempura? While I personally am not keen on natto “au naturel” (even with eggs {s}), in tempura form it’s actually quite tasty.

Looks and sounds great, Kyle!
For anyone interested in hearing it with lyrics, I found this 1954 version on the Japanese National Diet Library site.

Narita Unchiku on vocals, Chikuzan on shamisen, and I don’t know who on shakuhachi. I like Chikuzan’s kakegoe cues - “Haaiii HAI!” - as much as Unchiku’s singing. They remind me of the things Popeye says under his breath in the old Max Fleischer cartoons, or little asides Charlie Patton gets in between verses of his 1930s delta blues sides.

Oh man, that is an awesome version of this tune. Totally diggin’ Chikuzan’s kakegoe cues as well. Thanks for sharing!
